In this regard, it should be emphasized that this metal &#8211;\nrelatively &#8220;new&#8221; since it was discovered in 1790 and used in industry\nonly shortly before the 1950s &#8211; has numerous advantages. Starting with\nabundance: titanium, in fact, is the fourth (in terms of quantity) metal\nexisting on Earth and the ninth element in terms of use in industry, preceded\nonly by widely used materials, such as iron or steel. &#8216;aluminum.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Laser\ncutting of titanium is also performed bearing in mind another very important\nfeature that distinguishes this metal, namely biocompatibility, a feature that\nmakes it extremely versatile and the subject of numerous research and\ndevelopment studies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Titanium\nalso has other important advantages, including:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>resistance, at least three times higher than aluminum;<\/li><li>lightness, which makes it perfect both for making machinery components and for obtaining easily portable objects;<\/li><li>resilience against corrosion;<\/li><li>aesthetics: an aspect not to be underestimated, since it makes titanium usable also in the world of design;<\/li><li>flexibility<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Titanium is\nmarketed on the basis of four grades of classification: commercially pure\ntitanium, alpha alloys, b alloys and alpha + B alloys, which differ from each\nother in terms of strength and usability.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Chimimetal\nand titanium processing<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Laser\ncutting of titanium is performed in the Chimimetal plants in Biella within a\nprocessing range that varies between 0.4 mm and 1.2 mm in depth. The titanium\nfiber cutting process is performed through the transmission of the energy beam\ndirectly from the diodes and fiber cables.
